Folk Songs for the Five Points uses sound both to explore how immigrants form their identities and how they impact their new communities. This interactive, groundbreaking site is the newest installment in the Tenement Museum's Digital Artists in Residence Program (DARP).



Conceived and created by two New York high school students, The Immigrant Experience is a window in to the lives of the city's young immigrants.

Over 20,000 immigrants are currently being detained by the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Hard Place, a new web art project by Lauren Gill and Jenny Polak, allows visitors to enter INS detention centers and see the conditions that detainees face every day.

Claudia Chow's Banana is an interactive look at the Lees, a Chinese-American family attempting to balance Chinese traditions and Western culture.
